Is the Legal Intoxicating Hemp Market in Peril?

Airing: October 23rd at 11am CST

In mid-September, California Governor Gavin Newsom issued an emergency rule to ban the sale of hemp products that contain THC. The governor claimed the move was meant to “close loopholes” and keep “dangerous hemp and cannabis products” out of the hands of children.

Newsom’s emergency rule follows similar measures put forth by political leaders in other states and may signal that a major shift is underway in terms of how the public and state authorities relate to intoxicating hemp products.

In this upcoming Rootwurks webinar, Shawn Hauser, partner at the cannabis law firm Vicente LLP, will discuss the current state of the legal hemp market and what new hurdles hemp companies may face in the coming year.

About this Webinar

A recent study asserted that the intoxicating hemp-derived products market should expand to $3.5 billion per year by 2028, with a compound annual growth rate of 5%. But the industry's growth comes despite the recent efforts that government leaders in states such as California and Missouri are pursuing efforts to severely restrict or outright ban these products.

On October 23rd at 11am CST, we’re hosting Shawn Hauser, partner at the cannabis law firm Vicente LLP, for an in-depth discussion on the latest issues facing the legal hemp industry and how the political and regulatory environment surrounding hemp appears to be changing.
