ON-DEMAND WEBINAR

What's it Like to Run a Cannabis Company in New Jersey?

Originally Aired: June 22nd at 3pm CST

In April, cannabis companies and consumers across New Jersey celebrated the one-year anniversary of the official launch of recreational cannabis sales in the Garden State.

New Jersey is now home to a little over two dozen adult-use dispensaries, most of them multi-state operators.

And though New Jersey did beat next door New York in opening its legal recreational cannabis market, the state’s operators are still dealing with a wide variety of headaches and complications, ranging from competition with the legacy market to the scarcity and high cost of real estate.

In this on-demand Rootwurks webinar, you can hear two experts discuss the cannabis market in New Jersey, the regulatory and pricing issues companies and consumers face, and the most important things for would-be cannabis operators to know about the Garden State.

About this Webinar

“Today is an important moment for New Jersey.”

A little over a year ago, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy officially made those remarks outside of a dispensary in Elizabeth on the first day of legal adult-use cannabis sales in New Jersey.

From late April to the end of 2022, the state recorded more than $329 million in recreational sales alone, including about $20.1 million in tax revenue.

But a year later, how has the New Jersey cannabis industry fared?

In the on-demand Rootwurks webinar, “What’s it Like to Run a Cannabis Company in New Jersey,” Jennifer Cabrera of cannabis law firm Vicente LLP and Dan Ulloa of Heady NJ discuss where things stand with the legal cannabis market in New Jersey a year after legal adult-use sales began, and the challenges cannabis professionals face in the Garden State.
